Our Mission
BuyItLikeYouMeanIt provides individuals with access to trusted, collaborative, and customizable tools that support research and communication about the real world impact of purchasing various goods and services.
ThoughtAndMemory is a non-profit, open source project.
About
We are building a community-driven web and mobile application where users can research, analyze and rate company practices such as product manufacturing and transportation processes, employee and labor interactions, environmental impacts, political contributions, etc. Arguments that are logical and backed up by credible sources filter upwards in visibility, forming a trust-worthy platform on top of which user assign products and companies numerical ratings.
This information can be queried by shoppers at the point of sale so that they may make more informed purchasing decisions. Shoppers can personalize the ratings they receive by creating a profile that specifies how much interest they have in each kind of rated behavior, as well as whether a company's rating should be aggregated over its parent companies.
